Installation – The EASIEST way is to: “Add New” in the Plugins Dashboard – Search for the name of the function or plug-in – and install directly. This also shows compatibility with the version of WP you’re using. Later, if you want, you can simply FTP copy the folders. It’s a very simple and organized collection in the wp-content/plugins folder.
NextGen Galleries NextGen is the most supported plug-in, and has many other plug-ins which can be used in combination.
WP-Weather: You have to register with Weather.com – but this is very easy to use and works well.
Search & Replace – Need to change a specific word or phrase throughout a large site? This gives you easy replacing when the client needs to change something site wide and you have a dozen or more pages, really helps.
All in One SEO Pack – A real time saver and has a ton of wonderful features.
Contact Form 7 – This is a very simple contact form and supports Really Simple Captcha.
Exclude Pages from Navigation – This allows for you to have pages and not show them in the nav – VERY easy, just a check box on the page you want to not show in the nav.
Google XML Sitemaps – As the name implies, makes a standard XML file – really powerful and flexible.
HITS- IE6 PNGFix – as the name implies – can’t wait to dump IE6.
Link to Post – This makes it very easy to link any text or image to a page or post – Joomla! has something like this built in.
